2021 OBIAA BIA Rural Investment and Expansion Project

The pandemic has changed our lives and in particular, it has changed the way we do business. In the blink of an eye, we are now conducting business in ways we only imagined next generations would, not us!

OBIAA, with the support of the Province of Ontario, has conducted an extensive study to understand the impact of the pandemic on the remote working sector, specifically the impact of the urban to rural business shift and the opportunity of being ‘community ready’ for our rural BIAs.

Enjoy this webinar that outlines the project in detail. We will summarize the findings of two surveys, we conducted, that involved nearly 1000 respondents. Our survey respondents included urban business owners, rural BIA representatives and economic development staff.

This Webinar will present a ‘3-Step Tool Box’ approach to decision-making in order to assist rural communities to become ‘community-ready’ for any potential urban to rural business shift opportunities. Also included below are the results of both surveys and a PDF of the Prezi presented in this webinar.
