Graphic with words saying working together to respect history and accessibility and session recordings
The Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA) has worked with the Government of Ontario to help BIAs and their business members understand and comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). An accessibility challenge not currently addressed by the AODA or Ontario Building Code is the accessibility of older/historic/heritage buildings. To that end, OBIAA held a conference in October 2020, Accessing Our Heritage, and called on built environment and conservation professionals to explore what can be done.

Below are the conference recordings and we hope that you come away inspired to tackle this challenge in your own community.
