Along with the new Ontario Cultural Strategy, the province has recently announced a new funding program to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary. The program is called Ontario150 and full details can be found at the following link:

As a quick summary, there are three potential funding streams for your consideration. Activities must take place between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2017, in addition to regular operating activities.
1) Community Celebrations (accepting applications until Sep 2)
~$7 million fund – up to 75% of project budget, maximum funding $10k, $25k, or $70k, depending on operating budget size
~ guiding themes are to celebrate, participate, innovate; activities include:
Ontario150-themed multicultural events
commemorative installation ceremonies
food festivals
art exhibitions in public spaces
sporting events and competitions
150-thermed public workshops, forums, conferences, symposiums
youth innovation or entrepreneur competitions
open to non-profits, municipalities, Indigenous communities/orgs, businesses and associations
2) Partnerships (accepting applications until Sep 30)
– $5 million fund to support collaborative projects that foster new partnerships to engage and empower youth through:
creativity and cultural expression
diversity and inclusion
environmental stewardship
youth entrepreneurship
Healthy living
civic engagement
– up to 75% of project budget, maximum $100k
– open to non-profits, municipalities, Indigenous communities/orgs, businesses and associations
3) Community Capital (accepting applications to Sep 14)
– $25 million fund to help improve existing infrastructure
multicultural centres
Playgrounds
sport facilities
cenotaphs
elderly person centres
other public meeting spaces
– up to 75% of project budget, maximum $250k or $500k, depending on operating budget size
