The OBIAA Board is monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and will await official notification through the Public Health Agency of Canada and local public health units to determine if cancellation of the 2020 BIA Conference is necessary.  The Board will pursue rescheduling, if possible.

The health and well-being of our delegates – as well as of all Ontarians – is our number one priority and we encourage you to stay informed by regularly reviewing credible information on the Ontario government’s dedicated COVID-19 webpage (see link below).

How to Protect Yourself

Coronaviruses are spread mainly from person to person through close contact, for example, in a household, workplace or health care centre.

There is no vaccine available to protect against the 2019 novel coronavirus.

There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses. Take these everyday steps to reduce exposure to the virus and protect your health:

  • wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • sneeze and cough into your sleeve
  • avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
  • avoid contact with people who are sick
  • stay home if you are sick
