OBIAA WHO ARE WE?

The Association of Ontario BIAs (OBIAA) represents Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) throughout Ontario. Established in March 2001, OBIAA now represents over 100 member BIAs, plus Associate Members (suppliers, municipalities and others).

WHY JOIN?

Learn - BIAs are vital to the economic well being of our towns and cities. They are also complex organizations with many interests and components. The more knowledge and expertise you have about a BIA, the better for your business district and your community. There is so much you need to know. Running a BIA requires a multiplicity of skills, knowledge and decisions. Each one of us struggles daily with similar issues. OBIAA offers you a central source for information and advice.

Lobby
The stronger your voice, the more you can influence. For the continued health of business in our areas, we need to speak clearly and loudly enough to be noticed. OBIAA will be your advocate with all levels of government.

The more you work with others, the surer you are. You're not alone. Other BIAs are facing the same issues you are. We provide the means for you to tap into that vast body of experiential knowledge. We invite you to join the Ontario BIA association and help us create a strong voice, to learn from others, to learn from experts and to share with people who've been there and done it. We exist to help you achieve your goals.

OBIAA is a new organization, but we've been busy! In the past few years:

RATES
Rates are for a one-year term with the OBIAA, which runs from January to December. Annual fees are payable to the OBIAA.

Rates for BIAs:

  • Levy <$150
  • 000 = $125.00
  • $150,001 to $250,000=$150.00
  • $250,001=$199.00

For Associate Members $175.00 (suppliers, consultants, municipalities, agencies and others):

Memberships received by Feb. 15 are eligible for voting at the OBIAA Annual General Meeting for that year.
